The S55B30 3.0-liter turbo engine in the BMW M2 Competition/M3/M4 models features an indirect charge air cooling circuit. Charge air cooling is therefore performed by a water-cooled intercooler, which is replaced by the WagnerTuning high-performance intercooler.
The Wagner Tuning high-performance intercooler features a new competition mesh (tube fin) measuring 287 mm x 185 mm x 115 mm. This intercooler was specifically developed for the high demands of the S55 engine and offers 114% more external mesh volume than the original intercooler. The ratio of internal to external cooling surfaces maximizes heat transfer while simultaneously allowing for the best possible internal airflow. The die-cast aluminum end boxes were designed using CAD and optimized using CFD simulations. The result is excellent cooling properties with the lowest back pressure. This kit is therefore also suitable for racing. Optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant increase in performance!
