The 2.0L 133 kW (2.0L) turbo engine in the specified AMG A-Class models features an indirect intercooling circuit. This means that the intercooling process is not performed (as usual) with ambient air as the cooling medium, but rather with the help of a separate cooling water circuit. Consequently, a reduction in the cooling water temperature should also be directly equated with an improvement in charge air cooling performance. The newly developed racing mesh of the WAGNER TUNING high-performance water cooler increases the volume of the standard water cooler by 77%. The ratio of internal to external cooling surface area maximizes heat transfer while simultaneously allowing adjacent components (e.g., the engine radiator behind it) to have sufficient airflow for heat exchange. Furthermore, the increased amount of cooling water allows the entire thermal system to be kept at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
