Wagner Tuning Racing Water Cooler Kit for BMW F80-82-83 M3/M4.
The 3.0-liter S55B30 turbo engine in the BMW M3/M4 models features an indirect charge air cooling circuit. This means that the charge air is not cooled (as usual) by ambient air, but by a separate cooling water circuit. Consequently, a reduction in the cooling water temperature directly translates into an improvement in charge air cooling performance. The newly developed racing mesh of the WAGNER TUNING high-performance water cooler increases the volume of the standard radiator by 89% at the front and 94% at the sides. The ratio of internal to external cooling surface area used maximizes heat transfer while simultaneously allowing adjacent components (e.g., the engine radiator behind it) sufficient airflow for heat exchange.
Furthermore, the increased amount of cooling water allows the entire thermal system to be kept at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
