We’re proud of our Performance Plenum for the Porsche 911 (997.1) Turbo!

The OEM 997 Turbo plenum is T-shaped, meaning the airflow from the throttle body abruptly changes direction when split on each side of the intake manifolds. It makes sense to design a Y-shaped plenum rather than a “bank-into-the-wall” T-shape.
During the development process of this plenum, we spent a lot of time on flow simulations of the Y-shaped internal design. We ran both flow simulations on our CAD system and real-world tests on our SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench using 3D printed models.
The final design results were very impressive: the do88 plenum far outperformed the OEM plenum with a 34% increase in flow at the same pressure drop!
To achieve this final design, we chose to use a freeform 3D-designed casting. This construction adds significant performance but not much extra weight. We designed the plenum exterior to add as little weight as possible to the plenum.
Do88 high-performance plenum weight 0.80 kg (1.76 lbs), OEM plastic tubing weight 0.28 kg (0.62 lbs), and competitor cast high-performance tubing weight 1.19 kg (2.63 lbs)!
Our Performance Plenum is a great upgrade with both the OEM 74mm throttle body and the more extreme 82mm GT3 version.
The do88 Performance Plenum is a bolt-on with the OEM Porsche 997 GT3 82mm throttle body.
You can also purchase our plenum with a CNC-machined adapter plate that allows you to install it with the OEM Porsche 997.1 Turbo 74mm throttle body.
Please note that OEM parts are designed for the power level for which the car was originally built. An increase in power could cause your stock plenum to slow down your engine’s power. So even on an engine with a software tune, the do88 Performance Plenum will provide a performance boost!
