The engine pulls better across the entire RPM range and can withstand repeated full-throttle revs without building up heat. The perception that an intercooler is something to be upgraded only after a major engine tune-up is false, but it’s widespread among customers and drivers. During hot Swedish summer days, repeated revving, inspired driving, or even ordinary driving in a warmer climate, it doesn’t take excessive engine effort to generate dangerously high intake temperatures, even on a standard, untuned car engine.
