The biggest obstacle when designing a high-performance intercooler for the RS3 is the OEM shroud, which often limits both the physical size of the core and blocks ambient airflow to the intercooler. To avoid such compromises, a new chromoly steel crash bar with Ø 40 mm (1 5/8″) tubing is included. It installs just like the OEM unit, but allows for unrestricted ambient airflow and offers better clearance for a larger core. The mounting points for the ACC, adaptive cruise control, radar sensor, and ambient temperature sensor remain the same. Of course, do88 AB has not conducted a formal crash test and may not meet road legal standards for the designated country, but the rigidity of this crash bar makes it ideal for high-performance track cars.
The intercooler core, designed and manufactured by the esteemed Garrett Motorsport, uses advanced aerospace technology. The core is made of thin, tightly packed cooling fins that provide highly efficient heat transfer, thus ensuring optimal performance. Airflow is efficiently and evenly distributed over the core via our uniquely designed free-form cast end tanks. After numerous iterations of CFD analysis, 3D printing, and dyno testing, the intercooler core is now available in a variety of colors. flow, we’ve perfected a design that delivers maximum airflow. Form follows function: our 80mm machined connections far surpass the OEM design in terms of dynamics, eliminating bottlenecks and enabling high power outputs. To our knowledge, do88 is the only brand that has gone above and beyond by enlarging the hose connections to eliminate these bottlenecks. Critical to turbo efficiency to reach high numbers!

To ensure compatibility with the larger connections, the kit includes matching silicone hoses that connect to the OEM charge pipes. Welding is performed in-house at do88’s facility in Sweden, ensuring the highest quality.
