do88 proudly presents the intake system for the Toyota GR Supra 3.0 A90 (MK5) and BMW Z4 M40i, designed for high horsepower!

Filtration, airflow, and heat are key considerations when designing a new intake system for a turbocharged engine.

Our do88 intake system was developed to provide the turbo with good filtration and an improved airflow path while maintaining low inlet temperatures. A design challenge for this B58 Gen 2 intake system is its location: it’s right next to the exhaust manifold, which quickly absorbs heat at this location in the engine bay.

High intake air temperatures are terrible for engine performance, as the turbo is supposed to build boost with warm, less dense air. This is why a fully sealed intake system is the only way to ensure IATs are minimized. A fully sealed system, however, presents a challenge as it involves a restriction with only a single stock air supply at the bottom of the air filter box to draw air from. During development, we noted that the system needed a secondary air supply to eliminate this restriction. Our sealed airbox also features a heat shield to minimize radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. To ensure sufficient air volume around the filter, we designed a large 7-inch airbox that also leaves room for the struts.

A larger, smoother carbon tube was designed to replace the stock intake pipe. It starts at 105 mm (4.1 inches) in diameter and tapers seamlessly to fit the turbo inlet. Our large, custom-designed air filter is mounted on the intake pipe. The filter features a tightly woven cotton gauze for superior filtration. It is, of course, washable and reusable for optimal performance and a long life.

The system is available in several different layouts. It is compatible with the OE turbo inlet, as well as with the CNC-machined turbo inlets of the do88. Our turbo intakes are available in two different versions, for OE or Pure 800 hybrid turbos. Both feature a massive 89 mm (3.5″) hose connection to the inlet pipe and a carefully calculated flow-optimized radius that significantly improves airflow. The addition of the do88 Turbo inlet effectively removes all bottlenecks before the turbo to avoid even peaks and high-power outputs!

Tests conducted on our SuperFlow SF1020 flow bench clearly demonstrate the importance of this optional turbo inlet. The intake system alone offers a substantial 15% increase in airflow. Combined with the do88 Turbo inlet (for OE turbos), the overall increase in airflow is a whopping 23%! We highly recommend this combination.

The original air filter box and turbo inlet pipe are designed with elements that minimize the noise produced by the turbo and air intake. Specifically, the factory intake pipe is equipped with two mufflers to ensure that The turbo runs quietly. In contrast, our intake system is free of these noise-reducing elements, allowing for a more audible turbo spool and induction sound.

The kit is available in three versions, depending on the turbo application:

Without the DO88 turbo inlet. The intake system connects to the OE plastic turbo inlet.
Includes the CNC-machined DO88 Turbo inlet* designed for OE turbos. PLEASE READ*.

*The DO88 Turbo inlet does not incorporate a crankcase heater, which means the car’s wire connector will be disconnected. We recommend custom tuning to avoid CELs (Check Engine Lights).
