When tackling the extraordinary and roaring five-cylinder Audi RS3, we set ourselves a number of goals. First, output capacity. With a few options already on the market, we had the ambition to deliver something capable of handling the impressive yet impressive 1,000 HP. Second, to eliminate all bottlenecks, the diameter of the air filter and the pipe itself obviously had to be significant. Third, we wanted to create a completely closed system. However, having the filter completely free from its housing improves airflow. This is the kit for optimal airflow, with a 5-10% advantage over a closed system, depending on the application! Something for drag racing enthusiasts.
With these three elements, often combined but rarely optimized, we hit the ground running. The result, we think, speaks for itself. This is probably the largest intake system for the TT RS and RS3 on the market today! Made from the highest quality, vacuum-infused pre-preg carbon fiber (2x2mm twill), it connects to the massive 6″ BMC filter, ensuring the engine always has a sufficient air supply! The pipe itself is 6″ at the filter connection, then tapers towards the turbo, though never narrower than 4.5″ at its narrowest point!
The sheer size and scale of this kit mean we mean business! The strong yet lightweight carbon fiber is finished with a high-gloss, heat- and UV-resistant clear coat to protect it from yellowing over time. The look matches the performance!
The system is available in a few different layouts. It’s compatible with the 4.5″ turbo inlet pipeΒfor which you can choose three different turbo adaptersΒas well as the OE cast inlet pipe. This makes the pipe versatile and compatible with many turbo setups! Adding the DO88 inlet tube effectively removes all bottlenecks before the turbo to prevent surges even at higher power outputs!
Tests conducted on our SuperFlow SF1020 flow bench clearly demonstrate the importance of this optional inlet tube. The inlet tube alone provides a substantial 19% increase in airflow. Combined with the 4.5″ DO88 inlet pipe, the overall airflow increase is a whopping 76%! We highly recommend this combination.
The kit is available in four versions, depending on the turbo application:
Intake system only. Connects to the OEM cast inlet pipe.
With the DO88 Turbo inlet pipe and a CNC adapter (56.3 mm) to the OE turbo.
With the DO88 Turbo inlet pipe and a CNC adapter (62.8 mm) to the TTE 600, 625 V2, and 700 turbos.
With the DO88 Turbo inlet pipe and a CNC adapter (65.7 mm) to the TTE 777 and 855 turbos.
