The BR Series coilovers use a large 46mm diameter piston in a 53mm diameter shock body to maximize oil capacity. As the damper unit operates, the oil inside heats up. The oil’s viscosity changes as its temperature changes, which can lead to changes in the damping characteristics of the unit.
BC Racing uses only the highest quality oil in its coilovers, but goes that extra mile to maximize performance and builds its BR range with a large 53mm diameter shock body. This increases the unit’s capacity, which increases the volume of oil contained, which in turn reduces the peak temperature and therefore significantly improves the shock absorber’s performance.
