The BR Series coilovers use a large 46 mm diameter piston in a 53 mm diameter shock body to maximize oil capacity. As the damper unit operates, the oil inside heats up. The oil’s viscosity changes as its temperature changes, which can lead to changes in the unit’s damping characteristics.
BC Racing uses only the highest quality oil with its coilovers, but goes that extra mile to maximize performance and builds its BR range with a large 53 mm diameter shock body. This increases the unit’s capacity, which increases the volume of oil contained, which in turn reduces peak temperatures and therefore significantly improves shock performance.
