The V1 Series coilovers use a large 44mm diameter piston in a 50mm diameter shock body to maximize oil capacity. When the shock unit is operating, the oil inside it heats up. The oil’s viscosity changes as its temperature changes, which can lead to changes in the unit’s damping characteristics.
BC Racing uses only the highest quality oil in its coilovers, but goes that extra mile to maximize performance and builds its V1 range with a large 50mm diameter shock body. This increases the unit’s capacity, which increases the volume of oil contained, which in turn reduces peak temperatures and therefore significantly improves shock performance.
