The 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine (M178 DE 40 AL) of the Mercedes AMG models is equipped with an intercooler circuit. Indirect. Charge air cooling is then implemented by a water-cooled intercooler, which is replaced by the Wagner Tuning high-performance intercooler.
The WAGNER TUNING high-performance intercooler features a new high-performance mesh measuring 209 mm x 175 mm x 110 mm. This was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of the AMG engine and offers 86% more external mesh volume than the original intercooler. The ratio of internal to external cooling surface area used maximizes heat transfer while simultaneously enabling the best possible internal airflow. The die-cast aluminum end boxes were designed using CAD and optimized using CFD simulations. The result is excellent cooling properties with the lowest possible back pressure. This kit is therefore also suitable for racing. Optimal cooling of the charged air with a significant increase in performance!
All WAGNER TUNING intercoolers feature a thermally conductive, anti-corrosion coating to ensure a permanent cooling effect. Installation of the system is also simple and plug & play with the help of our installation instructions.
